Lake of the Sky Outfitters, Inc. is an outdoor gear and apparel retail shop specializing in hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Stop by and see our "Basecamp" Resource Room, where you can plan trips, share stories about your adventures, and even show slide/digital media shows!
We will be offering some brands that are new to the industry as well as to the South Lake Tahoe area, many of whom make their products out of recycled materials, and/or give back to charitable organizations worldwide. We will also be giving a percentage of our profits back to the local community, so when you shop with us, not only will you be able to buy quality products at industry competitive prices, but your purchase will help the various community and worldwide charitable organizations. We were pleased to make the following community donations in 2011:

- National Winter Trails Day 2012 ~ donated Platypus Insulated Hydration Bag for raffle drawing
- Sold custom Lake of the Sky Outfitter stickers with portion of profits donated to Christmas Cheer
Thanks to the support of customers in 2012 we were once again able to share our abundance with the local and global communities by donating raffle items or cash to the following:
- We donated a Platypus Insulated Bladder to the Tahoe Rim Trail's National Winter Trails Day event.
- Proceeds from the sale of our custom logo sticker were donated to Christmas Cheer.
- For the third year in a row we were proud to sponsor the Sierra Nevada Alliance's Enviromental Film Festival. We also donated a Vaude Brenta Pack and Atlas Snowshoe Poles for their auction.
- Donated a Red Ledge Jacket to Sierra Community Church for their fundraiser.
- Donated a GoLite Tumalo Parka to Earth Day fundraiser.
- Donated a Go Lite Tumalo Parka to The Sugar Pine Foundation's fundraiser.
- Donated a pair of Atlas Snowshoes to the Heavenly Free Style Ski Team's fundraiser.
- Cash donation to Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue.
- Cash donation to the South Tahoe Girls Cross Country Team.
- Cash donation to The Bear League.
- Cash donation to Wild Love Preserve rescue for wild horses.
- Cash donation to American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign to help purchase wild horses headed for slaughter.
- Cash donation to Wild Horse Education.
- Cash donation to The Bear League.
- Cash donation to The Salt River Wild Horse Preservation Association.
- Donated Mountainsmith Trekking Poles and Gift Certificate to Unity at the Lake's Fun Raiser.

Lake of the Sky Outfitters is now PCT Central for all Pacific Crest Trail thru hikers for 2012. We will be your place to go for resupply when you come to South Lake Tahoe. We carry a full line of equipment, food, footwear, repairs, and more. We are a drop point for your packages so you can ship them directly to us instead of the Post Office. We are open 7 days a week so you won't have to wait around for them to open. Ship them to our address listed on this web page.
We will have free Wi Fi and cold drinks available and we offer a PCT thru hikers discount.
